Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) in development since the late 1990s,
is a superior, cost effective alternative to polysilicon
(e.g., LCD) and Texas Instruments Digital Light
Processing (DLP™) for displays larger than 50".
|
With LCOS, a layer of liquid crystal material is placed between
a layer of specially coated glass and a layer of reflective
silicon. Light source is passed through the LCOS panels
and reflected off the silicon layer.
The eLCOS Controller is designed with a proprietary digital
modulation scheme, allowing for full bandwidth use and
enabling the Imager and optics to produce dense resolution,
high quality, high contrast, and flicker-free images.
Another advantage to our digital design is the scaleable
technology, which shortens the development time of next
generation products.
eLCOS is a fabless design company subcontracting manufacturing
work to carefully selected foundries. We have partnered
with the best pure-foundry as the key Si wafer provider
and will also develop LC and IC assembly sites to achieve
the highest yield within the shortest period of time.

eLCOS Microdisplay Technology fully understands the design and process to achieve excellent, consistent yields, driving down costs for the product. Therefore, eLCOS
is developing a major yield improvement program where
a major focus will be on uniformity process improvements.
eLCOS also plans to assign engineers to our cell foundry
to collect data, perform failure analysis, and reduce
manufacturing bottlenecks in our efforts to improve yield. |
